It always amazes us how many shooters are reluctant to invest in their hearing protection…
When your hearing is subject to loud noises – whether as a brief explosion of sound, or over a long period of time – it can damage the delicate structures of your inner ear and lead to permanent hearing loss.
But how loud is too loud?? Well, noise above 85 dB over a long period of time may start to damage your hearing, while a loud noise above 120 dB can cause immediate harm to your ears… to put that into perspective, a spoken conversation is around 60 dB and a shotgun blast can be anywhere up to 170 dB!
We have a great range of defenders and ear plugs in store and online, and options to suit any budget… so you’ve got no excuses!!
Your hearing has to last you a lifetime. Once it’s damaged – that’s it. So always protect it out in the field, and encourage others to do so too.
